Malak Primary and Preschool is situated in the northern suburbs of Darwin with a culturally diverse school population of approximately 235 students from Preschool to Year 6. 48% of our students identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. In addition, the school hosts the CommAut Program in partnership with School Support Services.
The school has adopted whole school approaches including a Student Success Team, Sound Waves, SWPB (School Wide Positive Behaviour) and NZ Maths and has a strong focus on developing students’ oral language and readiness for literacy and numeracy through the NT Preschool Curriculum and the Early Years Learning Framework. As part of the Sanderson Alliance, the Malak School Community is committed to developing and delivering a range of place based programs to support all our children to learn and thrive.
Our school motto is Learning for Life and our school values are; respect for self, respect for others and respect for the environment.
